About OurSocializationDog Training

Socialization with dogs, humans, and other animals is a great way to ensure a well-mannered and confident dog. The best time to socialize is between 10-16 weeks of age, but not all dogs get to experience socialization as a puppy. A lot of rescue dogs enter their new homes without proper socialization, which can put stress on both the dog and the owner.

Below are signs that your dog may need extra socialization:

  • Fearful around people or other animals
  • Nervous when out on walks
  • Shy or overly excited around people or other dogs
  • Aggressive towards other dogs
  • Tail tucked between the legs

A dog with improper socialization runs the risk of becoming fearful or aggressive. Contact us today to see how we can help!

I learned about Sit Means Sit dog training while I was living in Denver, Colorado. I was looking for a dog trainer and was referred to Sit Means Sit by a man I met in a dog park. I was so impressed with the free demonstration they showed me. As amazing as it was, I… Read More

I joined the Sit Means Sit team in the fall of 2010. As the proud owner of two St. Bernard/Rottweiler mixes, I was eager to get my dogs into training shortly after I started my career with the company. My dogs would jump on everyone and everything they could! They counter surfed, dug through the… Read More

Our dog had the absolute best experience with all of the trainers at Sit Means Sit. We started with puppy training and then moved into distraction training. Our pup loved her instruction and developed exponentially week over week. We also appreciate the time spent with us to provide us with the knowledge and skills to continue her training at home. We are also so pleased to have the option for group classes too and will be attending regularly!

I rescued/adopted an English bull terrier from the APL. Out of all my rescues, she was the most difficult and challenging, to the point where I thought she may not be a good fit with my other dogs. I decided to try sit means sit, and it was a true game changer after the first lesson. They establish boundaries for her and restored balance to the house. They were a true lifesaver! Highly Recommended!
